I travelled to KL for a work trip and every time I leave my 3-year-old behind, it feels hard in a new way. You’d think it gets easier. People say, “You’re used to it now, right?” No. You just learn how to carry it better. The packing is quick. The logistics are sorted. She’s safe. She’s happy. She’s loved. And still… there’s that quiet heaviness. The extra hug before leaving. The slightly longer goodbye. The way she asks, “Mumma, you’ll come back tomorrow?” Every trip reminds me that I am two people at once — a mother who wants to be there for every bedtime, and a woman who refuses to shrink her world. And the guilt? It doesn’t disappear. It just changes shape. Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it whispers when I’m enjoying a new city. Sometimes it shows up at night when I scroll through her pictures. Till when are we mums going to feel guilty? Maybe forever. Because love that deep will always ache a little. But here’s what I’m slowly learning: Guilt doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It means you care. And maybe the real strength is not waiting for the guilt to disappear… but choosing growth anyway. Because one day, I want my daughter to know that loving your child with your whole heart and still choosing your own path is not selfish. It’s powerful. If you’ve ever boarded a flight with a heavy heart... I see you. 💛 #corporatemomlife #momblogger #corporatemom #corporatemomstruggles
