Chessboard Story | For All Investors | #stockmarket . . . . Long ago in India, a brilliant mathematician invented the game of chess. The king was so impressed that he said: “Ask for any reward you want.” The inventor made a humble request: “Just give me grains of rice on a chessboard — 1 grain on the first square, 2 on the second, 4 on the third, and keep doubling on each of the 64 squares.” The king laughed at what seemed like a tiny reward and agreed. But when the counting reached the end of the board, the total came to more rice than the entire kingdom could ever produce.
