You just need the right questions. 💛 Honestly, I have been struggling as a parent to get my daughter to talk about her feelings often, so I used some of my therapist knowledge to ask her the right questions just before going to sleep because that’s the time I feel she is highly responsive to conversations with me and I felt this was a game changer, so I had to share it here with all the other parents who are looking beyond the regular questions like - how was your day? how was School? who is your best friend? I somehow feel that most kids just reply in mono syllables after a point to these regular questions.! The right questions are The kind that help your child feel safe, seen, and deeply understood.
