If you're starting college or already in one, this is worth a read. 1. Keep your circle small, but solid. It’s not about quantity it’s about loyalty. 2. Group vibes > group size. Big groups look fun, but it's the vibe that matters not the number. 3. Don’t fake it to fit in. If you’re changing yourself just to be accepted, it’s not real friendship. 4. Don’t rush into a group. Everyone’s trying to fit in at first, but take your time. You don’t have to stick to the first people you meet. 5. Not everyone you meet is your “best friend.” Some will stay, some won’t. Don’t overshare too soon. 6. People change, and so will equations. That’s okay be open to shifts and new friendships over time. 7. Protect your space and energy. If something feels off, it probably is. Don’t ignore red flags in the name of “friendship.” 8. Your safety is your own responsibility. Whether it’s at a party, after class, or just hanging out know your limits and trust your gut. 9. It's okay to be alone sometimes. Being comfortable with your own company is a superpower in college. 10. Make friends who bring peace, not pressure, Look for connections that help you grow, not shrink. 11. You don’t need to please everyone to be liked. Real ones will stay even when you say “no". Even after everything, new beginnings, goodbyes, and time flying by you’ll always find a few gems who feel like home away from home. 💛 They’re the ones who become your chosen family in college… and no matter how life moves on, they stay irreplaceable. You may not talk every day after college, or meet as often, but the memories you’ve made will always bring tears, laughter, and warmth. College friendships are truly a blessing and I’m forever grateful for mine. Tag your gems in the comments and let them know how much they mean to you!
