Some traders are reportedly using calcium carbide and other harmful chemicals to speed up the ripening process, making the fruits look bright yellow and attractive from the outside.  ⚠️ How to identify chemically ripened mangoes: • Bright and uniform yellow colour all over • May look ripe outside but stay raw or hard inside • Chemical smell instead of natural sweet aroma • Less juicy and unusual taste • Dark patches or uneven spots on the skin  🚨 Health risks: Eating such mangoes may cause throat irritation, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and breathing issues.
