Rameshwaram is a treasure of history, where every corner holds a hidden gem💎 Rameshwaram — the sacred Jyotirlinga, the legendary Ram Setu, and that magical road where the Bay of Bengal lies on one side, the Arabian Sea on the other, and the Indian Ocean ahead… leading to the divine confluence of three waters, nothing less than heaven on earth. 🌊 Dhanushkodi was once a thriving village at the southern tip of Rameshwaram. But in the night of 22nd December 1964, a devastating cyclone struck. A passenger train with more than 100 passengers was swept away by the waves, and the entire village was destroyed within hours. Thousands of lives were lost, and Dhanushkodi was declared a ‘ghost town’ by the government. Since then, no one is allowed to live there after sunset. Today, only broken ruins remain — silent witnesses of that night when the sea swallowed a village. 🏚️🛖 Pamban Bridge — India’s first sea bridge, connecting Rameshwaram to the mainland since 1914. A marvel that floats over the turquoise waters, where trains seem to glide across the ocean.🌉🌊 it’s also the hometown of India’s ‘Missile Man’, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Walk down its quiet lanes and at the end of one such street, you’ll find his humble house… a reminder that greatness can rise from the simplest of beginnings.✨
