We recently went to Burma Burma and honestly, it felt like more than just eating out. The place has a story of its own. It was started back in 2014 by Ankit Gupta, whose mom grew up in Myanmar, and his friend Chirag. They wanted to bring the taste of Burmese food to India, but with one big twist – everything here is completely vegetarian. No meat, no fish sauce, nothing. Still, the flavours are so unique that you don’t feel like anything is missing. What makes them special is how they use ingredients you don’t normally see – like tea leaves in salads, coconut-based curries, and a mix of spices that balance sour, spicy and tangy all together. Over the years, their menu has grown too. Now you’ll find not just the classics but also seasonal dishes, special teas and desserts. For us, the best part was that they actually made the food as per our choice – less spicy, without onion and garlic – and it still tasted amazing. That kind of care really stays with you. If you’re bored of the usual food scenes in Aerocity Gurugram, I’d say give Burma Burma a try. It’s veg, it’s different, and it really does feel like you’re tasting a bit of Myanmar right here.
