This journey of understanding layam has been extremely beautiful. When the laymen always paid attention to the sound of the Chilanka, I always paid attention to the Nattuvangam even when I watched performances as a child. As kids in the dance class, we were never allowed to touch the Thattukazhi. And our heart always yearn for the forbidden fruits. When I started teaching, I went to @hari.padman sir for understanding the nuances of rhythm but with his tight schedule, my classes did not continue for long. It was during the lockdown that I attended a workshop by @saikripa43 Ma'am and then we started this journey of regular classes. I will always remember her words, "You will lose it if you're over confident, you will lose it if you're under confident. Nidaanam is all you need". There is still a long way to go, lots to practice, lot to learn.
