I had to speak up because I’m deeply disturbed by the Supreme Court’s judgement on Delhi’s street dogs. All they’ve ever done is try to coexist with us, guarding our streets in exchange for a little food, love, and kindness. Every night, I watch them from my balcony. Even if I’ve met them just a minute before, they look up at me with eyes full of trust and love. It’s a bond that doesn’t need words. 💕 Take them away, and you don’t just remove animals. you rip out a part of the city’s soul. They read our moods better than most humans. They’ll trail behind you for a biscuit, yes, but also for the reassurance that you’re okay. Their loyalty? Unmatched. They’d stand between you and danger without hesitation. They’re not just “strays.” They’re neighbours. Friends. Guardians of the lanes we walk every day. We don’t own them but this is their home as much as it is ours.
