“lost a part of me” I don’t hate you because you hurt me, I hate you because, while loving you, I lost a part of me. I don’t cry because you left me, I grieve because I know I won’t be the same, you see. I knew that once I ended what we had, I’d never be the same, A part of me had to die, it was a necessary aim. I know I’d always be insecure, full of shame, For you took me for granted, playing a hurtful game. I used to be so happy, loving people with all my heart, Accepting them for who they were, a beautiful art. But now, after you, I may fear a brand-new start, Perhaps I won’t love people fully, guarding every part. That’s why I’m grieving, longing for the me I used to be, Passionately in love, embracing love so free.
