When shit hit the roof through the last few days, some of us (congratulations to us) chose to use restraint, common sense and to focus on factors we have control over, while knowing we are blessed to be protected by the best. I chose not to post any news because I stepped back to be sure which information could be trusted. I have several friends here on Instagram who belong to the forces, so much so, that a lot of you felt I m from a defence background myself. So.. I took a step back, like I did during the Covid second wave - focused on things that kept me grounded. My coffee, my kitchen, my workouts, breathing, limiting watching the news, trying to stay away from doom scrolling. As a person, I m a 4 on 10 when it comes to being optimistic. I d say I m a realist, maybe also a bit of a pessimist - so I m going to just focus on my present for now. My hopes won't fly too high. They seldom do.. But I ll carry on doing what's to be done in this moment. At this point, reading one more opinion (having one's voice is great, but I follow over 5000 accounts, my algorithm and feed has been in an overdrive) may make me throw up. You may see some branded content on my feed (thanks, capitalism 🫠, I have bills to pay like most of us) which was shot a few weeks back, these are work commitments which I need to fulfill, I haven't been in the headspace really to switch on the camera and smile into it.. Stay safe, stay blessed all ... #today #mythoughts #staysafe
