Accessibility issues – It can only be reached by boat, making it inconvenient for regular worshippers. Shift of congregation – Over time, people moved to more accessible areas, so the congregation shifted to other churches. Lack of maintenance – With no active parish, the church was left unused, though it is still under the Changanassery Archdiocese. That’s why it remains abandoned today, though it continues to attract visitors for its serene backwater setting.
