How I Potty Trained My Daughter (Diaper-Free by 2 Years) 👼 I started potty training when she was around 1 year old. 👼 Whenever she had to poop, I took her to the bathroom—this helped her understand that potty is done only there. 👼 Every 2–3 hours, I would take her to the washroom just to practice sitting on the potty. This built the habit slowly. 👼 I also showed her the potty seat regularly and explained, “You have to sit here for potty.” This helped her associate the potty seat with the actual act. 👼 We started tracking her timings—when she usually pees or poops. That made it easier to take her at the right time. 👼 We stopped using diapers at night too. Before bedtime, we always made her pee, and again immediately after waking up. 👼 I would tell her positively at night: “In the morning, we’ll wake up and go pee,” so her subconscious mind could register it. This really helped prevent peeing in sleep. 👼 Whenever we go out, I have a habit of taking her to pee right before leaving, so she stays comfortable without needing a diaper. 👼 If she ever accidentally peed in her undies or somewhere outside, we would calmly tell her, “Bachcha, we do pee in the washroom, not here.” This gentle reminder helped her understand that pee and potty only happen in the bathroom. 👼 Now, whenever she has to go, she clearly tells me, “Mamma potty aa raha hai” or “Mamma susu aa raha hai.” 👼 Consistency is key—this is not a one-night job.
