#bookreview I’m not going to speak much about the story but the way this book is written. I would say this book to Literature is what Avatar to Hollywood & Bahubali to Tollywood. I was mesmerised by the illustrations which conveys thousand messages (as it is aptly said that a picture could convey what a thousand words couldn’t). How the beautiful roses in the initial stages turns into dried ones losing its charm and the two faces of the Stargirl - serene & demonic are apt examples to cite. The book is so colourful and mesmerising. The melancholy of the Lover who couldn’t convince the Star Girl who also happened to be a Classical Dancer (Bharatanatyam) to make her understand his feelings is captured beautifully through short poems - one after the other. The Chapters are unique and so as the Sub-Chapters(poems): Anthesis Senescence Sporogenesis Anemochory Quixotosis Scripture In author’s words, “Tome of Stars explores love and loss, belief and apostasy, trauma, madness, reason, myth, and memory. While written in classic Shakespearean form, its voice and vision are contemporary”. The culmination of classical Indian art woven perfectly to reflect the personal Margam makes it stand apart. Though I loved each and every line of this book, these lines i felt would be highly appropriate to be highlighted: “And if again your blade plunged through my chest, I’d kiss you with my last breath ever blessed”. As they say, in the eyes of a mother, her kid is beautiful. I would say, in the eyes of a lover, his girl is beautiful and vice-versa. If you were in love earlier, you would surely be able to relate the feelings being captured that shows helplessness and most importantly the wound, a broken love would inflict 💔 #TomeOfStars #StarGirl #Stargazer
