We get it- growing veggies in the subtropical climate through late summer can be tough! 😅 I’ve seen heard so many people saying lately that they have given up during these hot months, the pests and disease that the heat and humidity bring can be challenging, but I’m here to tell you- there’s still so much you can grow! These are our top seven late summer plants to keep your garden producing at the hardest of times 🍆🥒 Here are some additional tips to help you through this time of year: 1. Water Wisely – Water early and use drip irrigation to avoid wet leaves and fungal issues. 2. Mulch and Shade – Mulch to retain moisture and protect roots; use shade cloth for tender plants. 3. Improve Airflow – Space plants properly to reduce humidity and disease. 4. Rotate Crops – Avoid planting the same crops in the same spot. 5. Healthy Soil – Add compost and organic matter regularly for strong, pest-resistant plants. 6. Monitor and Act Early – Check for pests daily and treat with organic methods 7.
